Art Prompt - Landscape in Pastel Colors - Week 3

Art prompt for this week - Do a landscape using pastel colors. The challenge for me is to only use color and not resort to a line drawing. Reference: Personal photo from the Nazca desert in Peru. Caption: A tree casts a shadow in the desert. Watercolor 5 x 7.

Art Challenge - "Shopping"

It's been ten years since I did my last Art Challenge for Drawspace.  Since 2020 is not being a good year to travel its time to explore old hobbies.  Found a challenge on pmp-art.com.  The theme for August is "Shopping". Decided to try an  ink and watercolor from a photo I took during a trip to St. Petersburg, Russia in June 2007.  Size: 4" x 6.25"

Painting 2 and 3

Well, after having my appetite somewhat whetted...I thought I'd get some painting supplies.
My sister-in-law had requested a poster size of a photo I took at the zoo, but since the resolution of the image wasn't very high, I couldn't blow it up.  So I did a painting for her.

Then the local Michael's had a heavily discounted painting workshop so I went to that I tried out a seascape.

My husband didn't actually mind this one too much, so I kept it.

Paint Nite

Just for grins I joined some friends for a heavily discounted Paint Nite event and
was re-introduced to acrylics which I haven't played with for over 20 years.

This is what they wanted us to paint.

I had to be different, of course.

My husband didn't like the painting so I gave it away.
