Art Challenge - "Shopping"

 It's been ten years since I did my last Art Challenge for Drawspace.  Since 2020 is not being a good year to travel its time to explore old hobbies.  Found a challenge on pmp-art.com.  The theme for August is "Shopping". Decided to try an  ink and watercolor from a photo I took during a trip to St. Petersburg, Russia in June 2007.  Size: 4" x 6.25"  

Building a model of a Viking Ship

April 2020

First try building a model as an adult. This was a 1970's kit.  Had to scratch build some missing pieces -- a rudder and the deck.  Ship is about 6 inches long.

2019 in Review

 I was out of town about half the year travelling.  When in Maryland, I did some chamber music and old-timey folk music jams. Had a chance to play in a couple of flute quartets.  Went to the Maine Fiddle Camp in August and Fiddle Hell (near Boston) in November.

My first Jazz Guitar Lesson

Although I started guitar in my teens and belonged to a jazz band back in high school, I had never had a jazz guitar lesson before.  I was given Minor Swing to work on in my spare time.
